Remain in HIM
No one knows how it actually came about. Suddenly the Holy Spirit fell and everything has been different ever since ...
We have known for a long time that we need the supernatural intervention of God in our lives and ministries more and more. Daily. For everyone. In every situation. Jesus promised and exemplified this to us. Great men and women of God tell us about it. We read about it in revival books.
We cried out to God: “It can't go on like this! We need you! What else can we give people? How can the addicted be set free, the burdened healed, the depressed happy?” We have made an effort with good programs, dedicated outreaches and spiritual meetings. But only God's great power can do this - not ourselves, that's for sure.
And then, one evening in the prayer house, it happened: Walter Heidenreich had just been with us in Vienna and was teaching about deliverance when someone said: “I need deliverance! From constant judging.” We prayed. He was set free. And the Holy Spirit fell on all of us. And again the next day. And then again.
We changed our daily schedule: We reduced the practical work to a minimum so that we have as much time as possible in the prayer house. Since then, we have done more in our short daily working hours than we usually do in a whole day of hard work. There is no logical explanation for this. There is suddenly even time for things that have been left lying around. The hunger for more of the Holy Spirit and his presence draws everyone to the house of prayer - every day.
And then HE comes - the good Holy Spirit - with repentance, deliverance, physical and inner healing, prophetic intercession and a burning love for Jesus, combined with a revelation of God's heart for the lost.
People are completely changed without our involvement!
A young man has been living with us for a long time. We have put in so much effort, had conversations, tried to help him become free and healthy inside: Bible study, discipleship training, praying for and with him. But nothing happened. It seemed as if his insides remained knotted up. But then the Holy Spirit came and convicted him of control and mistrust of God and people. He simply repented and experienced deliverance. He has been a different man ever since. I can still hardly get enough of the completely different look on his face: free, happy, open, without shame. The work of the Holy Spirit!
Another sits at lunch with a broad smile and says: “God has just shown me the reason why I'm not breaking through: it's religiousness, judgment and a spirit of performance.” He repents immediately and has been a different person ever since. When he talks about Jesus now, he has a spiritual clarity and authority.
It is a pleasure to watch the Holy Spirit completely change people in our home. Tears run down my face when I hear what wonderful things HE does for each of us. I am amazed and speechless. I don't know why all this is happening. It is God's great love and grace!
