Holy Spirit Power

I'll never forget visiting the HfaN team in Texas. I had been invited to "hang out" when Walter Heidenreich was there. I was supposed to be at work that night, but I called and canceled. I had prepared myself for a cozy evening, but when I arrived, I heard singing. I was completely thrown. As soon as I walked through the door of the house, it was like I was in a completely different place. I started worshiping and speaking in tongues.

Longing for Jesus!

Part of me thought it was really cool to be with the founders of HELP International. Another part of me was really proud and wanted to be seen, heard and recognized. But there was an even deeper part of me that longed for Jesus. I wanted to receive more of his love. When Walter started preaching, I felt so much joy, like I was a little child again, not because of Walter himself, but because of the words that came out of his mouth about the Holy Spirit and the power that comes from Him. I had always been aware of the Holy Spirit in my life, but I had never associated it with this word: power! The way Walter spoke made me very hungry to experience it. I was very desperate, also because of everything I was dealing with at the time. In that moment I felt that I didn't deserve to feel this power. I felt unworthy.

No more compromises!

That night I saw the manifestation of the Holy Spirit for the first time. I felt myself shutting down and feeling like I couldn't receive. At that moment Walter said, "If you want to receive, step forward.” I didn't step forward, but he said, “If you don't come to us, we will come to you.” Then I was the first one to step forward. Even though I was full of compromise in my heart, I felt the power of the Holy Spirit like never before. Long story short, I moved onto the base and the Holy Spirit has gone after every area of my heart where I had compromised. And that's just the beginning!
