Dance of life!
Finally the time has come. Tension is in the air. Such intensity! Then the drums start. And we start dancing. Shouts of joy ring out, the guitar joins in, flags are waved - “Jesus! Jesus!” This not a strictly ordered, lame procession that starts moving. There is so much power, so much joy! Life! The police are at the front, blocking the streets especially for us and seeming a little surprised when we set off. “Hallelujah, he is wonderful!”, it resounds loudly as we dance into the city center. Filmed by countless smartphones lining the street to the right and left. Some of the owners look surprised, but very positive. Some even cheer us on. Joy that is infectious. Life that flows - the dance of life!
One of our friends from the Czech Republic, who had traveled all the way here, describes it like this: “There was an outburst of joy and gratitude from the very first moment. Like a huge explosion of all kinds of good things that God had been preparing for the city for a long time, like a huge bucket of living water that poured out onto the streets.”
But now let's start from the beginning... What exactly were we doing there?
In the beginning, there was only the impression that God was up to something at Schwedenplatz. For months, we went there regularly - praying, listening, waiting for God. And the Holy Spirit took us more and more into his plans. We found out that there used to be a city gate right on the road that leads from Schwedenplatz into the city. And we literally “saw” how we danced through this “gate” into the city. Before Jesus, the King of Glory. That we are preparing the way for him. Because he wants to enter into Vienna anew. That old springs bubble up again. That a power for the Gospel is released. That His life, His presence flows into the city.
We even got a small foretaste of this before the dance was even over. A girl had seen “Jesus” on a flag and pulled her mother towards us. Two of our Viennese friends told them about Jesus and both invited Him into their hearts. What a beautiful start!

The very next day we were back in the city to preach the gospel. Some great things happened:
“We had a conversation with a woman in the city and were able to talk to her about faith. We prayed with her and she invited Jesus into her heart.”
“The woman had been standing there for a while and listened with interest to the sermons and testimonies of healing. I went up to her and asked her if I could lay hands on her. She had been in constant pain in her shoulders after a fall a few weeks ago. The pain disappeared: “It's good, it's good!” she said, visibly touched. We have a mighty God who lives and still works miracles today.”
“I had a word of knowledge for the people I had been talking to. They were really shocked: “Who are you? Are you from heaven?” - “It's not me - it's the Holy Spirit,” I explained to them. They were very touched. One of them had studied theology and knows a lot about the Bible. But when I told her what had hurt her in her life and that God wanted to heal her, the atmosphere changed. She said that she wanted to get to know Jesus.”
