It's back!
The vision:
The book "Help - I Need Somebody" is coming to Pattaya's community. How cool would it look if the testimony of a broken hippie, who finds a completely new life through the love of God, could resonate in the city of broken hearts? A story of hope in an environment of hopelessness. The idea clicked immediately!
The challenge
The first edition in Thai language has been out of print for 20 years, and the publishing house has since closed. But where there's a will, there's a way — that's true in Thailand, too. We were able to contact an employee of the original publisher, and just a few days later, we held a USB stick containing the archive files of the first edition of the book in our hands.
We started with a redesign of the cover, a new page layout, and additional content – it's great to have friends who can help with translations and proofreading.
At the same time, we needed a reliable printer that would produce the book for us at a fair price. Just as we were about to commit to a deal, we received a new quote – but all the correspondence was in Thai. Elisabeth from our team was undaunted and negotiated a quote with a 40% cost savings!
Numerous donations came in in response to our social media reels, which ultimately made the printing possible – thank you so much!
Available again!
Finally the delivery came: three pallets! The new edition comprises 3,020 books, and we've already been able to distribute the books. It's been a huge hit at the youth prison in southern Thailand, at FIRE FOR THE CITY in Pattaya, and in Bangkok. And a key message from Walter Heidenreich is once again encouraging and inspiring readers in Thai: If the love of God could change his life, then the Holy Spirit can also work in and through yours. Jesus is just a sincere prayer away!
